Kigali International Peace Marathon, live.

Laps of Kigali from Amahoro Stadium

The 22nd Kigali International Peace Marathon takes place on 12 and 13 June 2027, starting and finishing at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali-Remera.

The Kigali International Peace Marathon is organised by the Rwanda Athletics Federation together with the Ministry of Sports, and 2027 brings its 22nd edition. Results on the organiser's site go back to 2005. The weekend opens on Saturday 12 June with the Fun Run for Peace over 10 km, an untimed run for everyone, and the full and half marathon follow on Sunday 13 June.

Every race starts on KG17 Avenue in front of Amahoro Stadium in Remera and finishes by the stadium. The half marathon is one lap of a 21.1 km circuit and the marathon is two laps of the same circuit, both AIMS certified and electronically timed. Checkpoints around the lap hand out water, fruit and sponges, and medical teams and first aid are on hand. The time limit for the marathon is 6 hours.

The course records show the level at the front: 2:14:56 for the men's marathon, set in 2012, and 1:01:41 for the men's half marathon, from 2013. The Saturday fun run is free for young Rwandan nationals and secondary school students.

Entry fees differ for international participants, East African Community residents and Rwandan nationals. Bibs are collected at the Marathon Office in the media room at Amahoro Stadium, and there is no bib collection or registration on the Sunday, so plan to collect before race day. Start times for 2027 have not been published yet. For supporters, the stadium area is where the laps pass and where the ceremonies take place.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, so the dot on the map is only as good as that phone and its signal. The official results and splits come from the organiser of the Kigali International Peace Marathon.
