Kassel Marathon, live.

Two laps through the districts of Kassel from the Auestadion

The Kassel Marathon brings the North Hesse running weekend to the Auestadion from 24 to 26 September 2027, with the main races on Sunday 26 September.

Marathon, half marathon and the marathon relay all start together on Sunday at 09:30 on the Damaschkestraße by the Auestadion, and all finish in the stadium. The race is run under the rules of the German athletics federation with the Hessian federation supervising. Marathon runners must be born in 2009 or earlier, half marathon runners in 2011 or earlier.

The half marathon is one lap through Waldau, Forstfeld, Bettenhausen, Unterneustadt, Wesertor, Nord (Holland), Rothenditmold, Kirchditmold, the Vorderer Westen, Mitte and Süd, with around 100 metres of climbing. The marathon runs the lap twice, about 200 metres of climbing in all, and returns for the second lap through the Goldenes Tor into the Aue. In the city centre the route uses the Obere Königsstraße, the Friedrichsplatz and the Steinweg before the run along the Karlsaue back to the stadium.

In the relay four runners share the marathon course in men's, women's and mixed teams, a good option for clubs and colleagues. Aid stations stand every 5 km from kilometre 5, with water points in between, and every finisher gets a medal and a free massage in the Auestadion. Online entry closes on 12 September 2027, later entries are taken at the stadium during the weekend.

Race numbers are collected in front of the Auestadion on Friday afternoon and all Saturday. Because both laps pass the centre, spectators in the Friedrichsplatz area can see marathon runners twice, and the finish in the stadium is close to the start.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the organiser.
