The organiser describes varied terrain: forest tracks, alpine meadows and rocky paths, with enough climbing to earn every view. It is the shortest of the mountain races, but the organiser warns that altitude, changing weather and technical sections still demand focus and preparation.

The numbers back that up. 1,400 m of ascent over 20 km is 70 m per kilometre, as steep on average as the 50K. The start is a wave start at 10:00, and the 6-hour limit puts the last finishers in Ayder at 16:00. It suits a runner with some mountain experience who wants the Kaçkar terrain in a single day without a night or a high pass.
