KAÇKAR 100K

The name says 100K. The course is 82 km, and the ascent explains why. The organiser lists the course in sections: Hazindak, Samistal, Yukarı Kavrun, Mezovit and Öküzyatağı, Mezovit Pass, the lakes area, Yukarı Çeymakçur, Palakçur, the Palakçur Pass above Avusor Lake, the life base at Avusor, Dadala Pansion, Koçdüzü, Huser, the Huser trail and Ayder. It runs through twelve mountain villages.

Three points carry the race. Mezovit Pass is a rocky scramble to 3,200 m. The lakes area between the Serdal and Ceymakcur passes is technical and rocky, and the Palakçur Pass and Avusor Lake section is a long traverse at 2,700 m. Dadala Pass, at nearly 2,900 m, comes after the Avusor life base. The 24-hour limit means the slowest runners finish at 04:00 on Sunday, a full day after the start.

This page belongs to the 2026 edition. A 04:00 start in the dark, a scramble above 3,000 m and long sections between villages are exactly where a phone loses signal. On a Livebib broadcast the runner shares, family see the position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate for Ayder. When the signal drops, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated, never shown as measured.
