A classic seeding race on laps at Sya
K-Byggslingan is a classic technique ski race over 40 km and 20 km at Sya Skidstadion, between Mjölby and Mantorp in Sweden.
K-Byggslingan is a cross-country ski race in classic technique, organised by the ski club Sya SK. It starts and finishes at Sya Skidstadion, between Mjölby and Mantorp, and serves as a seeding race for Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan. The 2027 edition is held on Sunday 7 February. The club says that details for the 2027 race will be published on its site as they are ready.
The race is skied on a lap course in lightly rolling terrain, which the organiser describes as having the character of Vasaloppet. The exact loop depends on the snow, and the club posts course maps and a height profile on its course page once the year's track is set. In 2026 the race used an artificial snow loop of 3.3 km with at least double tracks the whole way.
There are two distances, 40 km and 20 km. In the latest invitation the 40 km had both competition and recreational classes, while the 20 km was a recreational class. The time on 40 km counts for seeding to Vasaloppet and Tjejvasan, and the time on 20 km counts for Tjejvasan, whichever class a participant chooses.
Because the course is made of laps, the field passes the stadium again and again, which makes it a good place to watch. The drink station is also at the lap point, with sports drink, water and buns. Anyone taking part can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from their phone, so family and friends can follow from home. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the organiser.
