Skabbräven

Skabbräven is the backyard race of Julita Loppet. Each lap is 6.7 km and starts on the hour; whoever is back before the next start has the rest of the hour to eat, drink and get ready. Laps not finished inside 60 minutes do not count, and missing the start signal ends your race. The cap is twelve laps, 80.4 km in all, and the day’s programme closes with Den sista kvarten, the last quarter hour, at 17:45.

The organiser is unusually plain about who it is for: not most people, and they point anyone in doubt to their other races. Being fit helps, they say, but grit and stubbornness weigh just as much. The entry fee is 800 SEK. This page covers Skabbräven 2026.

In a backyard race the question at home is never just how far, but whether she will make it back before the hour turns. With Livebib, the runner shares a link to their broadcast, and family follow it in a browser with no account and no app: the position on the lap, the distance so far, and an estimate of when she will be back at the house that updates through the lap. When the phone loses signal, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated, never as measured. The runner chooses who gets the link.
