Jackass Night Trail 31K

Thirty-one kilometres — one lap of the Pemberton loop, run by headlamp through the saguaro at night. It is the opening act of the Javelina weekend: a short, fast desert race that lets runners who are not taking on the hundred see the course, and lets crews who arrive early get a night in the park before the real work starts.

The desert at night is a different place from the desert at noon, which is most of the point. This page belongs to the 2026 edition of the Jackass Night Trail. On Livebib, supporters follow the runner’s live position around the loop and get an arrival estimate for the finish at Javelina Jeadquarters — useful on a race short enough to be over before anyone standing at the arch expects it.
