From Portman Road along the River Orwell

The Larking Gowen Ipswich Half Marathon is a road half marathon that starts and finishes at Portman Road Stadium, home of Ipswich Town FC.

The 2027 race starts at 09:30 on Sunday 26 September 2027 and is organised by Run For All, with Larking Gowen as title sponsor. The organiser calls it one of the major running events in Suffolk, drawing thousands of participants of all ages and abilities.

From the stadium the route goes around Holywells Park and along Ipswich Waterfront, follows the River Orwell, passes the Strand and returns along Grafton Way to the stadium for the finish. The organiser publishes an interactive route map.

Entrants must be 17 or over on race day. Race numbers are posted 7 to 10 days before the event, and the deadline to change the address is 6 weeks before. Entry includes chip timing, a finisher's goody bag and an exclusive finisher's medal, with the option of a technical finisher T-shirt.

The event village at Portman Road Stadium has food and drink for before and after the run, along with the partner charities. The organiser promises a terrific atmosphere as the town comes out to support the field.
