A flat spring marathon from Friedrichswall in central Hannover

The ADAC Marathon Hannover is a spring road race weekend in the centre of Lower Saxony's capital, with distances from 4 to 42 km.

The next ADAC Marathon Hannover is on Sunday 11 April 2027. The 2026 race was the 34th edition, and the organiser is already counting down to the next one. Under the motto of a free choice from 4 to 42 km, the programme covers the full marathon of 42.195 km, the half marathon of 21.0975 km, which is also open to Nordic walkers, the enercity Staffel-Marathon for relay teams and the ROSSMANN 10K.

Start and finish are on Friedrichswall in the city centre. The relay splits the marathon into six legs of 4.6 to 9.6 km each. Alongside the main races there is a handbike marathon over 42.195 km, the R5K-Tour over 5 km and a family day with the HAZ-Minithon of 4.2 km and school and children's runs.

The organiser describes the course as one of the flattest in Germany, with only 19 m of difference in height, and promises that personal bests are guaranteed. All courses are officially measured and count for the ranking lists.

Along the course the organiser lists well over 90 stations that keep the atmosphere going. Relay teams hand over at Hildesheimer Straße, Waldchaussee by the zoo, Podbielskistraße, Celler Straße and Vahrenwalder Straße before the last runner heads back to Friedrichswall.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the ADAC Marathon Hannover.
