A half marathon around the Greifensee, finish in the Stadtpark Uster

The Greifenseelauf in Uster, near Zurich, holds its 48th edition on Saturday 18 September 2027, with a half marathon around the lake.

The half marathon over 21.1 km makes a full circuit of the Greifensee. About 60 percent of the route is on asphalt and 40 percent on gravel paths through the nature reserve on the lake shore.

There are also two shorter distances, 10 km and 6.3 km, so families, clubs and people new to racing can take part on the same day. All races finish in the Stadtpark in Uster. The event is organised by Ryffel Running.

With 40 percent on gravel, shoes that grip on loose ground are useful. The September date fits well before the autumn marathons.

On the half marathon the aid stations follow the lake round, at Greifensee (km 2.9, water only), Fällanden (km 7.4), Maur (km 11.5, with bananas), the Badi Egg (km 14.6), Seefeldstrasse in Riedikon (km 17.8) and Talacker (km 19.5, water only), before the finish in the Stadtpark Uster.
