A gravel weekend on the Halland coast

Gravel Grit'n Grind Halmstad is a two day gravel weekend outside Halmstad, with a UCI Gravel World Series qualifier on Saturday and a Nordic Gravel Series ride on Sunday.

The 2027 weekend runs from Friday 13 to Sunday 15 August. Friday brings warm-up and social rides, route recon and the traditional riders' buffet at the Heagård event area, 5 km outside Halmstad.

Saturday 14 August is the UCI Gravel World Series qualifier, where elite and age group riders race for places at the 2027 Gravel World Championships in France. Sunday 15 August is the Nordic Gravel Series day in the Simlångsdalen area, with 125, 85 or 50 km. It can be a race day or a social ride with friends, and it counts toward the general classification of the 2027 Nordic Gravel Series season.

Halland has no big mountains, but a steady run of rolling hills keeps the courses lively. The gravel roads vary from quiet lakeside tracks in the forest to open farm roads and fast, low traffic gravel, all within about 15 km of the city. The organiser pairs a hard race on the first day with a more nature focused ride on the second.

Registration opens on 11 November 2026. The organiser describes the region as running from the salty coast to the deep forests of Halland, with open fields along the coast and shadowy forest close to the sea. Saturday is for those chasing a qualifying place, while Sunday can be ridden as a race or simply enjoyed with friends.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from Gravel Grit'n Grind.
