Three days of trail running from the town of Golden

The Golden Ultra celebrates its 11th anniversary on 10 to 12 September 2027 with three days of trail racing in Golden, British Columbia.

The Golden Ultra is produced by TransRockies and runs on the singletrack around Golden in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia. Participants choose a three day stage race, the Full Pint or the Half Pint, or a single day race on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Registration for 2027 opens on 25 November.

Friday's stage climbs at Kicking Horse Mountain Resort. The Full Pint stage, Blood, starts at 2:00 pm from the gondola base and gains about 1,060 metres in 4.6 km. The Half Pint stage, Climb, starts at 1:30 pm from the base of the Catamount chair and gains about 700 metres in 2.9 km.

Saturday is the long day. Sweat, the Full Pint stage, starts at 6:00 am and covers about 59 km with 2,300 metres of gain over exposed ridgelines, with mandatory gear and strict cutoffs. Conquer, the Half Pint stage, starts at 8:00 am and covers about 29 km. On Sunday, Tears covers 15.2 km from 8:30 am and Cruise 11.1 km from 9:00 am, starting from Keith King Memorial Park.

The organiser says the 60 km should not be anyone's first ultra, while the shorter days suit people new to trail running. The event is cupless, so bring a cup, and there is a free kids race on Saturday. Friends can ride the gondola to the Saturday checkpoint at the top.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the Golden Ultra.
