Gstaad · August 7, 2027
From Gstaad at 1,050 m to the glacier at 2,950 m
The Glacier 3000 Run climbs 26.2 km from Gstaad to the Scex Rouge on Glacier 3000, and the next edition is on Saturday 7 August 2027.
The main race starts in Gstaad at 1,050 m and finishes at the Scex Rouge at 2,950 m. Over 26.2 km it gains 2,015 m and loses only 115 m, so almost every step leads upward, first along the valley towards Reusch and then steeply into high mountain terrain.
Pairs can share the same route in the Team Run. The first runner covers 15.6 km with 282 m of climbing from Gstaad to the changeover at Reusch, and the second takes on the last 10.6 km and 1,618 m to the finish on Glacier 3000. The Vertical Run starts at Col du Pillon at 1,525 m and climbs 1,442 m in 6.65 km, with an average gradient of 22 percent. It passes below the Gemskopf rock face and over a short rock step before the Cabane des Diablerets, so it is only for fit and sure-footed people, a helmet is compulsory and poles are recommended. Alpine Nordic Walking covers 6.2 km and 1,041 m from Oldenegg, and children run in Gstaad.
The organiser's 2026 terms included free public transport within Switzerland, transport of your clothes to the finish, a free ride on the Glacier 3000 lifts, a lunch bag voucher and a finisher prize. The race is a member of Swiss Runners.
Parking near the start is limited and the organiser recommends travelling by public transport. Check the programme for 2027 start times once it is published.
On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Glacier 3000 Run.
