Fifty editions on the hills above Novi Sad

The Fruška Gora Trail, Fruškogorski maraton, is a spring trail running and hiking event on the Fruška Gora hills near Novi Sad in northern Serbia.

The 50th Fruška Gora Trail is on 24 and 25 April 2027. The organiser, MSA Železničar from Novi Sad, describes it as one of the oldest trail running competitions in Europe, held for more than four decades without a break.

The longest course is the Ultra Extreme Trail of 134.3 km with 5,720 m of climbing, open for 35 hours. The Ultra Trail Marathon is 108.2 km with 4,120 m, also with 35 hours. The Medium Eastern Trail is 59.6 km with 2,140 m and 17 hours, the Small Eastern Extreme Trail 42.2 km with 2,090 m and 12 hours, and the Trainee Southern Trail 22.7 km with 898 m and 7 hours. Each of these carries ITRA points.

Beside the competitive Sport trails there are many shorter trails entered under the Fun application, down to the 4.1 km Joy and Pleasure Trail. Several of the longer named trails of earlier years are not on the programme for 2027, so check which course you sign up for.

Online applications for the Sport trails close in mid April 2027. On Saturday 24 April the organiser runs transport to the start from 6 a.m. from Novi Sad, so participants do not need their own car to reach the start.
