MEIN FREIBURG MARATHON, live.

Two laps from the Messe to the Münster and the Wiwilibrücke

MEIN FREIBURG MARATHON starts and finishes at Messe Freiburg on Sunday 4 April 2027, with a marathon, a half marathon and the AOK-Gesundheitslauf over 10 km.

Everything begins on the Neuer Messplatz. The marathon sets off in two waves at 09:00 and 09:10, the AOK-Gesundheitslauf follows, and the half marathon starts from 10:30. The marathon is two identical laps of the half marathon course, with a cut-off of 5 hours 45 minutes, and is open from age 18. The half marathon closes after 3 hours 15 minutes.

The loop runs from the Messe through the Seepark at kilometre 2 and the Dietenbachpark with its lake at kilometre 5, then through Weingarten, Haslach, St. Georgen and the Wiehre. Along the Dreisam it reaches the Altstadt and the Freiburger Münster at kilometre 16, crosses the Wiwilibrücke, the bridge in the race logo, at kilometre 17 and returns to the Messe. The organiser counts about 200 metres of climbing over the marathon, in gentle waves rather than real hills.

That makes Freiburg a good spring race for a steady pace or a first marathon, and the 10 km is flat and aimed at newcomers and anyone starting the season easily. Every finisher gets a medal, and the entry includes pacers, aid along the course, a massage and free use of RVF public transport on race Sunday.

Spectators find live bands along the whole route, 34 of them on the marathon course according to the organiser, and the Altstadt and the Dreisam are easy places to watch twice on the marathon. The FITNRUN sports fair at the Messe and the Bürger Maultaschen-Party open on Friday and Saturday before the race.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the organiser.
