Over Valdresflye with Jotunheimen in view

Fjellmaraton Beitostølen is held for the 46th time on Saturday 5 June 2027, on the mountain road and trails above Beitostølen.

Fjellmaraton follows the national tourist road over Valdresflye, with views toward Jotunheimen, and every class finishes in Beitostølen sentrum, outside Sporten Beitostølen. The 2027 edition on Saturday 5 June is the 46th, and the programme ranges from a full marathon to a short run for children.

The marathon, 42.2 km, starts at 09:00 at Heimsand at 960 m. It is fast asphalt over Valdresflye, reaches a high point of 1,389 m and runs mostly downhill after that. The half marathon, 21.1 km, starts at 11:15 from Valdresflye at 1,389 m. Its profile varies on the way down to Bygdin, has a gentle climb to Båtskardet and then descends to the finish in the village at 900 m. The last 5 km of the course follow the county road.

Fjellbukken is 10 km on trail, gravel and mountain ground from the centre, past the Hegge apartments and down Grønnebakken and the slalom slope, with the start at 11:00. Fjellgeita uses the same course without timing for those who want to go at their own pace. Miniton is 7 km on asphalt from Båtskaret at 11:45, gently downhill almost all the way, and Fjelltassen is a short, flat run for children up to 11 years.

The organiser calls Fjellbukken a genuine trail race that gives you speed and a feel for the mountains. On the first part of the course there is medical staff every 10 km, from Båtskaret down to the finish they stand close together, and a doctor is on duty at the finish area.
