Intégrale des Causses

The organiser gives 60.1 kilometres and 2,628 metres of climb for 600 runners in the long-trail category. Peyreleau is a village the Templiers know well: on the Sunday it is the Grand Trail’s first and liveliest aid station, and on the Friday it is this race’s start line. Full aid is at Saint-André-de-Vézines, La Salvage and Le Cade, with water at La Roque-Sainte-Marguerite, Mas de Bru and Massebiau. The single published barrier is at Saint-André, km 17.7, by 10:30.

From Saint-André the course runs on ground the Grand Trail covers two days later, by Montméjean and Roquesaltes to the Larzac and the last climb to Le Cade. Every finisher receives a HOKA gilet, a dated medal and aligot at the finish, and bibs are collected at the Salon du Trail on Thursday 15 October from 12:00 to 19:00.

A race that starts in another village is hard to follow from the finish line. A runner’s shared Livebib link shows family the position from Peyreleau onward, the distance run and a finish estimate for Millau that updates as they go, all in a browser with no account. Official times stay with the organiser’s timing on LiveTrail.

This distance

Intégrale des Causses

The Intégrale starts in Peyreleau with a small loop above the village to spread the field, then two quiet kilometres on the track along the floor of the Jonte valley, where the giant cliffs of the Causse Méjean emerge in the half-light. The well-known climb to the hermitage of Saint-Michel takes it onto the Causse Noir and the corniche path, which gives wide views over the Jonte once the day has broken.

From the prehistoric Champignon it heads for Saint-André-de-Vézines by the chapel of Saint-Jean-des-Balmes, on forest tracks where runners find their stride again, and then the organiser’s classic sequence: La Roujarie, Saint-André, Montméjean, Roquesaltes and La Roque before the Larzac. The finish does not change: an all-out descent to Massebiau by the Roubelier ravine, the climb to Le Cade, the race’s high point at the Pouncho d’Agast and the run to the finish through the Grotte du Hibou.
