Point to point across British Columbia's parks
The Fat Dog 120 Trail Race starts on Friday 6 August 2027 near Keremeos in British Columbia, with the 100 km and 40 mile following on Saturday 7 August.
Fat Dog 120 crosses the mountains of southern British Columbia from Cathedral Provincial Park near Keremeos to E.C. Manning Provincial Park. The 2027 race starts on Friday 6 August, and registration opens on 5 January 2027 at midnight Pacific time.
The 120 mile race is point to point and measures about 124 miles, with about 8,000 metres of climbing over five climbs and a 48 hour limit. The route includes a crossing of the Pasayten River with a guide rope and about 13 miles on road.
The 100 km and the 40 mile races start on Saturday 7 August at the Cascade Rest Area on Highway 3, about 30 minutes west of Manning Park Resort. The 100 km passes the Skagit Bluffs, Grainger Creek, the Heather Trail, Blackwall Peak and the Skyline, with about 4,000 metres of climbing and a 26 hour limit. The 40 mile passes Nicomen Lake, the Heather Trail and Blackwall Peak and finishes at Lightning Lake, with about 2,500 metres of climbing and an 18 hour limit.
The organisers say most of the 120 mile course is very remote technical singletrack, far from road access, rising from valley bottoms into high subalpine terrain with many panoramic views. They call the Heather Trail one of the most scenic trails in all of Manning Park, and aim for an event that is hospitable, inclusive and fun as well as extremely challenging.
On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from Fat Dog 120.
