Course & challenge

E35 - North Face Trail

Thirty-five kilometres with 2,500 metres of ascent, which is a brutal ratio: this is the steepest race of the weekend measured against its length, climbing out of the Lütschine valley and onto the high paths that run directly beneath the Eiger north face before dropping into Grindelwald. There is very little flat ground on it, and the nine-hour limit is not generous for anyone who treats it as a long mountain run rather than a race.

This page is the 2027 edition of the E35, with its own gun, its own course and its own aid stations. On Livebib, friends and family follow the runner on the real course line with a live position, splits at each station and an arrival estimate for the finish in Grindelwald — which matters on a short, steep course where an hour can disappear into a single climb.
