Edmonton Marathon, live.

The Friendly Marathon, flat and fast along Jasper Avenue

The Servus Edmonton Marathon, known as The Friendly Marathon, returns to downtown Edmonton on Sunday 15 August 2027.

For 36 years the Edmonton Marathon has been part of the city's story, run by non profit organisers who describe it as a celebration of community. Race day offers the Servus Marathon, the Healthcare Solutions Half Marathon, the Complete Shipping Solutions Army 10K, a family 5K and a kids 1 km fun run.

All three main distances start and finish at the Edmonton Convention Centre. The marathon is a flat and fast Boston qualifying course through historic neighbourhoods and downtown, overlooking the River Valley, with a finish where fans line Jasper Avenue. The half marathon runs its first and last mile down Jasper Avenue. The Army 10K starts later in the morning and supports the Loyal Edmonton Regiment.

There is no set maximum finishing time, but marathon participants have had to reach the halfway mark at 96 Street and Jasper Avenue by 10:00 a.m. or finish with a half marathon medal. The organiser counts more than 15,000 spectators and 400 plus volunteers, and in 2026 the half marathon hosted the Athletics Canada national championships.

Spectators should gather on Jasper Avenue near the Convention Centre, where the start and the finish meet. Online registration for 2027 opens soon.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. That position comes from the participant, not from the organiser's timing, and the official results are published by the organiser.
