From Nordmarka to the beach at Huk
EcoTrail Oslo is a one day trail festival on 29 May 2027 where every distance ends on the beach at Huk on Bygdøy.
EcoTrail Oslo crosses the Norwegian capital on trails, forest roads and fjord paths, with five timed distances and a 21 km Nordic walk. For 2027 the finish moves to Huk on Bygdøy. For ten years the race ended at Vippetangen, and the city has now given permission for a finish on the beach, with a new final 5 km shared by every distance.
The longest course is 80.2 km and starts at 07:00 from Nedre Foss Park. It follows Akerselva up to Maridalsvannet and crosses Nordmarka over Fagervann, Sognsvann and Vettakollen at 419 m. It continues to Holmenkollen, through Sørkedalen and Fossum, past Bogstadvannet and down Lysakerelva toward the fjord. The ground is mostly forest road and technical trail, with about 9 percent asphalt, and the course climbs 1,991 m. There are no drop bags, and support is allowed only at the aid stations.
The other distances start at 11:00. The 50.5 km leaves Holmenkollen near the ski jump and climbs 1,026 m. The 31.3 km starts at Sørkedalen idrettsanlegg, the 21 km at Fossum idrettsanlegg and the 10 km at Sollerudstranda by Lysaker. The 21 km includes the hilly, rooty river section along Lysakerelva, while the 10 km is fast and mostly flat, with four short hills on Bygdøy.
The organiser calls the 50 km the perfect ultra distance for experienced runners and for first timers beyond the marathon alike. For supporters, the organiser points to Sognsvann, where the metro station right by the course makes it easy for family and friends to come and cheer the 80 km field.
On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from EcoTrail Oslo.
