Uniper Düsseldorf Marathon, live.

Both banks of the Rhine, the Kö and a finish in the Altstadt

The Uniper Düsseldorf Marathon is a spring road race that starts on the Rhine promenade, crosses the river twice and finishes in the old town.

The 2027 edition is on Sunday 18 April 2027. The half marathon goes first, from 08:00 in waves at 08:00, 08:20 and 08:40. The marathon starts at 09:45 and the four-person relay at 10:15. All three start at Joseph-Beuys-Ufer and finish at Untere Rheinwerft, right in the Düsseldorf Altstadt, with the finisher area on Burgplatz. Children have the Kids Cup Maxi, Kids Cup Mini and Bambini Cup.

The marathon begins with a view of the Rhine and first follows the river north toward the trade fair grounds and Nordpark. After about 13 km it crosses the Oberkasseler Brücke to the left bank, where a loop runs through Oberkassel and passes the half marathon mark. It then crosses back, heads for the Königsallee and past the Zoopark, on toward the Medienhafen and once more over the Kö before the finish. The organiser describes the course as mostly flat.

The relay splits the marathon into four legs of about 11.2, 13.1, 9.2 and 9 km, with the timing chip built into the baton. Cut-off times are 11:40 for the half marathon, 15:45 for the marathon and 16:15 for the relay.

The organiser calls the course ideal for personal bests but also for enjoying the city and its atmosphere, and promises an emotional finish right on the Rhine, with cheering spectators and music. The bag drop is on the Reuterkaserne meadow by the Düsseldorf sundial, between start and finish.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Uniper Düsseldorf Marathon.
