Dubai Marathon, live.

Two laps of Jumeirah Beach Road below the Burj Al Arab

The Dubai Marathon is the Middle East's oldest international marathon, run on the coastal roads of Jumeirah in the cool of a January morning.

The 26th edition of the Dubai Marathon takes place on Sunday 17 January 2027. The first international Dubai Marathon was staged in front of Al Wasl Sports Club on 14 January 2000, and the organiser now calls it the region's biggest marathon. Race day has three distances: the marathon over 42.195 km, a 10 km road race and a 4 km fun run.

The marathon starts near the Police Academy and heads up Al Sufouh, turning at the Dubai Media City entrance before coming back past Madinat Jumeirah and the Burj Al Arab onto Jumeirah Beach Road. That stretch is run twice, out towards the Creek and back, before the course returns along Al Taryam Road to finish on the Police Academy parade ground in front of the grandstand. The organiser expects about 10 to 15 degrees at the start.

The mass marathon start is at 06:30, with a time limit of six hours at the finish. Water comes every 2.5 km from 5 km to 40 km, with hydration drinks from 15 km. Entrants must be 18 or over for the marathon and 15 or over for the 10 km, while the 4 km is open to all, so the morning works for families and newcomers as well as for people chasing a fast time.

Spectators should not try to park near Jumeirah Beach Road, Al Sufouh or the Police Academy, as the roads there are closed. The organiser suggests parking around Mall of the Emirates and Al Barsha and walking in. Because the beach road section is run twice, one spot on Jumeirah Beach Road lets you see a participant several times.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the organiser of the Dubai Marathon.
