Roots, rocks and lake views above Port Moody

The Diez Vista 50K starts and finishes at White Pine Beach on Sasamat Lake on Saturday 10 April 2027 at 8:00am.

Diez Vista is one of the most historic ultras in Canada, run since 1997 by local trail runners to show off the trails around Port Moody, British Columbia. The 2027 race on 10 April is its 29th year, and the race is organised by Coast Mountain Trail Running.

The 50 km course starts and finishes at White Pine Beach on Sasamat Lake in Belcarra Regional Park. It heads out to neighbouring Buntzen Lake, including the Diez Vistas trail that gives the race its name, and brings over 2000 metres of climbing and descent over roots, rocks and mud. Aid stations sit at North Beach, South Beach, the equestrian parking lot and on Pumphouse Road, and the last few hundred metres end on the beach after the historic stairs that have been part of the route since day one.

Drop bags go to Aid Station 3, and runners who arrive at Aid Stations 3, 4 or 5 after the listed cutoff are entered as DNF and offered a ride back to Sasamat Lake. Runners aged 70 or older can ask for a 30 minute early start. The race suits participants with some trail ultra experience who are ready for steep, technical West Coast trail.

A kids race of about 1 km starts at 11:30am on the same day. Most of its runners are aged 3 to 10, but all children are welcome, and it is untimed and just for fun. Parking at Belcarra is paid from 1 April to 30 September, so supporters should plan their trip to the beach.
