Glenridding to Pooley Bridge

Chillswim Ullswater End to End is a 7.5 mile swim along the full length of Ullswater in the Lake District, from Glenridding in the south to Parkfoot near Pooley Bridge.

The 2027 swim on Saturday 10 July is the 7th edition. Swimmers start at Glenridding at the southern end of the lake and swim north to the finish at Parkfoot Holiday Park, close to Pooley Bridge.

Start waves are grouped by expected pace per mile, and six feed boats are spaced along the course. The organiser marks every mile and half mile on the way, and after the first mile swimmers keep within about 50 metres of the shore. Wetsuits are optional and a tow float is mandatory.

Ullswater sits between the other two Chillswim End to End swims in length. Swimmers must be at least 17, the cut off is 65 minutes per mile, with checks at mile 4 at 13:30 and mile 6 at 15:15, and the last swimmer must be out of the water at the finish by 17:00. Buses take swimmers from the event HQ at Parkfoot to the start.

Chillswim runs Coniston in June and Windermere in September as part of the same 2027 series, and entries are open on its site.
