An evening half marathon in South Bohemia

The Mattoni Running Festival České Budějovice is a RunCzech evening road race in the capital of South Bohemia, starting from one of the largest squares in the country.

The 2027 race day is Saturday 29 May. RunCzech organises it with support from the city and the South Bohemian Region, as part of the series that includes the Prague half marathon and marathon.

The Mattoni Half Marathon of 21.097 km starts at 19:00 from the second largest square in the Czech Republic, in the historic centre. Teams can run the same distance as a relay, and the 2Run format splits it into legs of 10 and 11 km. The course records are 0:59:49 for men, by Daniel Chebii of Kenya, and 1:09:53 for women, by Agnes Jeruto of Kenya.

The afternoon opens with the Vodafone 5K at 15:30, a short race that suits people new to running events. The family mile starts at 17:00 and the bambini runs for children at 17:45, so the square is busy for most of the day.

For spectators the historic centre is the place to be, around the start on the big square. Check the organiser's page for the 2027 course map before choosing a place to stand.
