SPAR Budapest Marathon, live.

Hungary's big autumn marathon weekend

The SPAR Budapest Marathon is the autumn road marathon of Budapest, organised by BSI and run as a festival over a whole weekend.

The 42nd SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival is on 9 and 10 October 2027, and the marathon itself is on Sunday 10 October 2027. The organiser is BSI, Budapest Sportiroda, which also runs the spring and autumn half marathons and the night run in the city.

For 2027 entries are open for the individual marathon of 42.195 km only, with early bird prices until 9 November 2026. The other distances of the festival have not opened yet. In 2026 the weekend also had marathon relays, a 30 km, a half marathon and a 14 km on Sunday, and a 10 km and a 5 km on Saturday.

The 2026 edition set a record, with more than 10,000 runners on the marathon start list, 121 countries represented and 3,302 people finishing their first marathon. That makes it a good choice for a first marathon as well as for experienced runners who want a big field.

The course, start area and timetable for 2027 will be published by the organiser before race week. Spectators and families should check that information, as the start and finish area decides where it is easiest to meet people after the race.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser.
