Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon, live.

Hungary's biggest half marathon opens the autumn

The Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon is a September road half marathon through the Hungarian capital, organised by the team behind the Budapest Marathon.

The 42nd Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon is on Sunday 5 September 2027, with the start at 8:00. The organiser calls it Hungary's biggest half marathon and the first, and one of the most significant, running events of the Budapest autumn. More than ten thousand people are expected on the start line.

The race covers 21.097 km on a course the organiser describes as beautiful and diverse, through Budapest's most beautiful parts. Along the way the organiser promises lively music points and enthusiastic cheering crowds.

For now registration is open only for the individual 21.1 km race, and the 10 km and the relays are announced as coming soon. The organiser calls the 10 km the little brother of the half: the start and finish are in the usual places, but the course is slightly shorter, flat and fast, with views of Budapest and a medal at the finish.

The organiser also promises an international field and a unique finisher's medal. The same organiser stages the SPAR Budapest Marathon on 9 and 10 October 2027, about a month after the half.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, so the dot on the map is only as good as that phone and its signal. The official results and splits come from the organiser of the Budapest Half Marathon.
