swb-Marathon Bremen, live.

From the Marktplatz past the Weser, the Bürgerpark and the Weserstadion

The swb-Marathon Bremen, in its 22nd edition on Sunday 3 October 2027, starts and finishes on the Marktplatz in front of the town hall.

Three races share the day. The marathon starts at 09:30, the HIRSCH 10 km follows at 09:55 and the AOK half marathon goes at 11:30. Start and finish are right by the historic town hall, close to the Roland and the Town Musicians.

The route shows many sides of Bremen. It runs past the Werdersee, the Botanischer Garten, the university and the Universum science centre, through the Bürgerpark and the Überseestadt, along the Schlachte promenade on the Weser and past the Weserstadion on the Osterdeich. After the Überseestadt the route follows the Weser out to the Weserstadion and comes back over the Osterdeich.

In 2026 the race set a record with 15,000 participants. The date is a public holiday in Germany, which makes the weekend easy to plan for people travelling from elsewhere.

The organiser promises enthusiastic spectators along the whole course, and the last metres lead back onto the Marktplatz to loud applause.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the swb-Marathon Bremen.
