A family race in the forest at Böda Sand

Böda Sandsloppet is a family running event on forest trails at Böda Sand on Öland, organised by Högby IF.

Böda Sandsloppet is a race the organiser describes as one that can involve the whole family. Adults choose a longer or a shorter course, children and young people have their own classes earlier in the afternoon, and everyone who completes the race receives a medal. The event is organised by Högby IF and takes place on 2 July 2027.

The course runs through what the organiser calls lovely forest terrain, so expect trail underfoot rather than tarmac. Start and finish are both at Böda Sand SportCamp, which keeps the whole day in one place for participants and the people who come with them.

Men and women choose between 6.5 km and 4 km. The youth classes P/F13, P/F11 and P/F9 run 1.8 km, and children aged 7 and younger run 1 km. For the classes aged 11 and younger there is no timing and no prize giving. Bibs can be collected on race day from 15:00.

For spectators the afternoon builds up step by step. The youngest start at 16:30, followed by P/F9 at 16:50, P/F11 at 17:10 and P/F13 at 17:30. The 4 km field sets off at 18:00 and the 6.5 km field at 18:30. A participant can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from the phone they carry, so friends and family at home can follow along. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser.
