Trail running among beech forests and lakes

Bocksten TrailRun is a trail race through the Åkulla beech forests, starting and finishing at Öströö Fårfarm near Varberg.

Bocksten TrailRun is a summer trail race in the Åkulla beech forests near Varberg, in the land of the Bocksten Man. The organiser calls it the trail race of the seven lakes, run through beech forest, spruce forest and old mosses on paths the Bocksten Man once walked.

The ground mixes forest paths, offtrail sections, forest roads and gravel. The 5 km has about 100 metres of climbing and welcomes children and adults alike. The 12 km has about 230 metres. The 22 km partly follows the 12 km course and adds a 9 km loop past three more lakes, with about 500 metres on winding technical paths. The Ultra 44 km runs the 22 km course twice, about 1000 metres in all, with a lap passage at the farm where a drop bag can be left. Parts of the area are sensitive nature reserves, so the organiser does not publish the course maps.

Start and finish are at Öströö Fårfarm on 3 July 2027. The Ultra starts at 08:00, the 12 km at 10:00, the 5 km at 10:15 and the 22 km at 10:30. The field is limited to 1000 places. Spectators can see the Ultra pass at the lap, and the farm grills burgers and serves coffee by the race centre.

A participant can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from the phone they carry, so friends and family can follow along from home. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser after the race.
