A race for blood donation in Östersund

Blodomloppet Östersund is a running and walking event in Östersund, organised by Östersunds SK as part of the Blodomloppet series.

Blodomloppet is held in towns across Sweden to draw attention to the need for blood donation and to encourage a healthy lifestyle. In Östersund it is organised by Östersunds SK, and the surplus goes back to youth activities in the organising clubs. People can walk, jog or run, alone or with colleagues and friends, and teams of five share a picnic bag in the finish area.

Start and finish for every race are in Badhusparken. The 10 km and 5 km courses are marked with Blodomloppet's red ribbons and signs, a lead cyclist shows the way and marshals stand along the route. Because of works at a passage under Frösöbron, alternative courses were used in 2026, so check the maps on the race page. Water and sports drink are served along the way.

On 23 August 2027 the programme has timed women's and men's races over 10 km and 5 km, a 5 km walking class without timing where leashed dogs are welcome, Specialomloppet over 2 km, and Lilla Blodomloppet for children over 1500 m and 500 m. The children's races start first, and the organiser publishes preliminary start times on the race page.

Friends and family can gather in the event area in Badhusparken, with a stage, an information tent and a tent from the blood centre. Anyone in the field can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from their phone so people at home can follow. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser.
