A race for blood donation at Malmö strand

Blodomloppet Malmö is a 5 km and 10 km fitness race on 17 May 2027 at Malmö strand, held to draw attention to blood donation.

Blodomloppet is a series of fitness races run across Sweden to draw attention to blood donation and to promote a healthy lifestyle. It began in 1993, and the organiser calls it Sweden's largest fitness race. In Malmö the 2026 edition gathered 6349 participants. You can walk, jog or run, alone or with colleagues and friends, and many take part in teams of up to 5 people.

The event area is on the grass by Naturum and Öresund Funkis at Malmö strand, Ribersborgsstigen, and the finish straight runs over Limhamnsfältet. The organiser notes that the courses include gravel and paths. They are marked with barrier tape, signs, orange paint and marshals, and a lead cyclist goes ahead of the fastest participant. There are drinks stations on the course and drinks for everyone at the finish.

The distances are 5 km and 10 km, the Dam/herr 5K and Dam/herr 10K classes, plus a walking class. Children have Lilla Blodomloppet and there is also Specialomloppet. The organiser says the information on its page will be updated ahead of 2027.

For supporters the day centres on the event area, with a café at Öresund Funkis, a prize ceremony and a picnic once the field has finished. The organiser recommends coming by bike or bus, as parking is limited, and dogs are not allowed in the event area. A participant can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from their phone. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser.
