Classic skiing through the oak landscape at Vreta Kloster

BigUp Ski Maraton is a classic technique ski race run by Vreta SoMK on the artificial snow trail at Vreta Kloster golf course near Ljungsbro.

BigUp Ski Maraton is Vreta Skid- och motionsklubb's own long-distance ski race, held on 13 February 2027 at the artificial snow trail by Vreta Kloster golf course near Ljungsbro. The race is in classic technique and counts for seeding in Tjejvasan and Vasaloppet. The club welcomes both recreational skiers and elite skiers, and the field is capped at 500 participants so that everyone gets good and fair conditions.

The organiser describes the course as an easy to moderately hilly loop with a long-distance character, on both natural and artificial snow, through a rolling oak landscape at the golf course. At least double tracks are set around the whole loop. A reserve course on artificial snow only is ready if needed.

There are two distances. The 42 km race has the classes H21, D21 and H/D Motion. The 21 km race is for the H/D Motion class. Everyone sets off together in a mass start at 11.00, and the start pens open at 10:00 for those showing a race bib.

For people who come to watch, the loop format means the field passes the lap area several times, where drinks are served to the skiers. The golf restaurant stays open with food and coffee. Anyone taking part can choose to share their own live position on Livebib from their phone, so family and friends can follow from home. This is not the organiser's timing, and official results come from the organiser.
