Belfast City Marathon, live.

From Stormont to Ormeau Park through all four corners of Belfast

The Belfast City Marathon starts at Stormont at 9am on Sunday 2 May 2027 and finishes in Ormeau Park.

The organiser calls it one of the leading marathons in the UK and Ireland, an AIMS certified race renowned for the local support and crowds along the way. In 2023 it became the first and only marathon in Northern Ireland to join the World Athletics Label Road Race Series, and the 2026 race was the largest ever, with over 23,000 participants across the marathon and the team relay.

The 2027 edition starts at Stormont Estate at 9am on Sunday 2 May. From Stormont the course runs through all four areas of the city, north, south, east and west, before finishing in Ormeau Park. It is a road marathon over 26.2 miles, and marathon places for 2027 are already sold out.

The Team Relay also starts at Stormont Estate on 2 May. The organiser says there is an event to suit all levels of fitness, from the marathon run to the wheelchair race and the team relay.

The marathon is the largest mass participation sporting event in Northern Ireland, according to the organiser. It also runs other events through the year too, including a women's 10K in the Titanic Quarter on 20 June and a half marathon on 19 September.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Belfast City Marathon.
