Belfast City Half Marathon, live.

Ormeau Embankment and every side of the city

The Phoenix Energy Belfast City Half Marathon is a 13.1 mile road race that starts and finishes on Ormeau Embankment and takes in the south, east, north and west of Belfast.

The 2027 race is on Sunday 19 September 2027. It is run by Belfast City Marathon Ltd, which also organises the Belfast City Marathon in May and the Belfast City Women's 10k in June. The organiser describes it as the biggest half marathon event in Northern Ireland, and one that has sold out year on year.

Start and finish are both on Ormeau Embankment, and between them the route visits the south, east, north and west of the city. Having one start and finish area makes the day simple for supporters, who can see participants leave and come home in the same place.

Entrants must be 17 or over on the day. Race packs are not posted: every participant collects theirs at the half marathon expo and pack collection at the ICC Belfast on Saturday 18 September. Entries are sold in rate bands, the cheaper early rate has already sold out, and every entry includes a T-shirt. Charity places are offered as well.

The half sits in the autumn, months after the marathon, so it suits people who want a road race in Belfast at the end of the summer, whether they are chasing a time or running their first 13.1 miles.

On Livebib you can follow a participant live when they choose to share the position of the phone they carry. That position comes from the participant's own phone and is not the organiser's timing, so official results and splits come from the organiser.
