A hundred obstacles in five kilometres

Backamo OCR packs 100 obstacles into a 5 km course at Backamo outside Ljungskile on Saturday 7 August 2027.

The organiser calls it one of Sweden's biggest and most fun obstacle races, and the number of obstacles is the real challenge rather than the distance. At Backamo Lägerplats the organiser has also built one of Sweden's largest permanent obstacle courses, which is open to the public for a small maintenance fee.

The competition class starts at 11:00. First across the line wins, and the top three women and men are named. To be in the running for the podium you must clear every obstacle, and you must be able to swim, since the swim sections cannot be skipped. There is no timing or result list beyond the top three, and there are no penalty loops.

Run For Fun sends start groups from about 11:05 until 13:00. Here nobody has to clear every obstacle and the swim sections can be left out. Enter with the same team name as your friends, colleagues or training group and you will start together. The family package covers up to five people, at most two adults and three children aged up to 12, and the adults decide which obstacles suit the children. Everyone who finishes gets a medal.

Start lists are published at the beginning of race week. Registration is binding, and if the event has to be moved your place moves with it. Members of an athletics club should give their club when they enter.

On Livebib, a participant can choose to share their own live position from the phone they carry, so friends can follow along on the map. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from Backamo OCR.
