Ascona-Locarno Run, live.

Two days of running between Locarno and the Ascona lakefront

The 12th Ascona-Locarno Run takes place on 9 and 10 October 2027, with every race starting and finishing on Piazza Grande in Locarno.

The event shows the Lago Maggiore region in its autumn colours. The courses leave Piazza Grande in Locarno and take in the town and the lakefront in Ascona, and participants choose the distance that fits their training.

The 21 km Half Marathon is on a course homologated by Swiss Athletics with international homologation, and the 10 km Run is homologated by Swiss Athletics. Both also award the Ticino championship titles to members of FTAL clubs who race in their club kit. The 5 km Sunset Run, formerly the City Run, is held on the Saturday at sunset through the streets of Locarno, and it suits newcomers as well as experienced runners.

Since 2021 there is also a 10 km Walking and Nordic Walking that is open to families. Children can come along in a pushchair or on a scooter, but animals are not allowed. The youngest runners have their own Kids Run.

In 2026 the half marathon started at 09:10 and the 10 km at 12:10 on the Sunday, with the Sunset Run at 18:15 on the Saturday. Check the race pages for the 2027 times once they are published. Late entry on site is possible while bibs last.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Ascona-Locarno Run.
