Åre Extreme Lake

The organiser calls Lake its most popular class and says it needs no previous multisport experience. The paddle is 9 km from Duved, with a carry past Tegeforsen, down to Holiday Club Åre; a single kayak, a double for pairs, or a surfski, with buoyancy aid and whistle on board. In 2026 the class got a new paddle section.

After the boat the course is the same as the classic race: 14.3 km on foot over Åreskutan to Huså, carrying windproof jacket, map and compass, and 31.9 km on the mountain bike back to the finish on Åre torg. The total is 55.2 km and 1,838 metres of climbing; the organiser estimates a fast day at 4 h 40 and a slow one at 10 hours. Lake is raced solo, in pairs and as a three-person relay, where the paddler hands over at Åre torg, the runner takes the mountain and the rider brings it home.

On the mountain, where the phone can lose signal, the position is carried forward and marked as estimated, never shown as measured.
