A half marathon among the temples of Angkor

The Angkor Wat International Half Marathon starts in front of Angkor Wat, in the Angkor archaeological park near Siem Reap.

The 2026 edition is on Sunday 6 December, with racing between 5:00 and 10:30. There are four distances: the 21 km half marathon, a 10 km, a 5 km and a 3 km, so people of every age and level can join.

All races begin in front of Angkor Wat and run within the Angkor area, among the temples. The course is sanctioned by AIMS.

The race began in 1996 to support people injured by landmines in Cambodia, with Japanese supporters among its founders, and that purpose is still part of its identity. Many participants come from abroad and combine the race with a visit to the temples.

The early start avoids the worst of the heat, but December mornings in Cambodia can still be warm, so drink regularly. Spectators can watch near the start in front of Angkor Wat.
