Allgäu Panorama Marathon, live.

Over the Hörnergruppe above Sonthofen

The Allgäu Panorama Marathon in Sonthofen holds its 20th edition on 7 and 8 August 2027, with mountain distances over the Hörnergruppe.

The main day is Sunday 8 August. The ultra over about 69.5 km starts at 06:00, the Hörnerlauf over 18 km to Grasgehren at 07:00, the marathon at 08:00 and the half marathon at 09:15, which finishes at the Wonnemar. On Saturday 7 August the new Halbmarathon Reverse starts at 15:00 from the Wonnemar, with a double medal for people who run both halves, and the 5K starts at 15:15.

The organiser describes the ultra as the first German ultra trail, with 69 km and 3,000 metres of climbing. Grasgehren at 18 km, after about 1,110 metres of climbing, has cut offs of 09:30 for the ultra and 11:15 for the marathon. Ultra participants can also end at the Oberstdorf ski jump at km 49 after 1,970 metres of climbing. The courses combine mountain trails in the Hörnergruppe with flatter kilometres along the Illerdamm.

In 2026 more than 4,000 people registered from 54 nations, which the organiser calls the largest sporting event ever held in the Allgäu, and more than 400 helpers were on duty. The marathon and the half suit trained road runners who want their first mountain race, while the ultra needs real alpine experience.

Marathon and ultra participants who have to stop at Grasgehren receive a Hörnerlauf medal, and those who end at the ski jump in Oberstdorf get an Allgäu Panorama Marathon medal and a ride back to Sonthofen in the organiser's vehicles.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Allgäu Panorama Marathon.
