Erste Bank Vienna Night Run, live.

One lap of the Ringstraße after dark

The 21st erste bank vienna night run on Thursday 16 September 2027 sends its field on one 5 km evening lap of the Ringstraße.

The night run was first held in 2007, and from the start the idea was fun and running together rather than the chase for minutes and seconds. For 2027 the event area moves to the Rathausplatz, with start and finish beside the Rathaus. The start is on the Universitätsring at the level of the Rathausplatz and the finish on the Dr. Karl Renner Ring at the level of the Parlament.

There is one distance, 5 km, run or walked in start blocks by expected finishing time. The elite block starts at 19:49, a new extra block goes at 19:50 and the following blocks set off in turn until the Nordic walking block at 21:05. You must start in the block you entered, and start numbers are coloured by block. That makes the run suitable for fast runners, first timers and walkers alike.

Charity sits at the heart of the evening. For every participant the organiser donates a warm meal for people affected by poverty and homelessness in Vienna, through the emergency care of Caritas Wien. If you give up the long sleeve running shirt in the starter pack, a further meal is donated. Companies can enter teams from five people, and schools take part with class teams.

Start numbers are collected at WIEN MITTE The Mall on Tuesday 14 and Wednesday 15 September 2027. The entry fee rises in steps, starting at 38 euros until the end of 2026. Spectators can line the Ringstraße, and the organiser recommends coming by public transport.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the erste bank vienna night run.
