X-Orient
X-Orient is the teenagers’ race of the weekend: orienteering in the streets of Verbier and the forest around it on Sunday 11 July 2027, with free starts every 30 seconds between 10:30 and 12:30 at the Ermitage. This page covers the 2027 edition.

X-Orient
There are two courses. The 5 km has at least 240 m of climbing on the best route, the 7 km at least 350 m; the race page’s headline gives 7 km and 320 m. U14 (12–13 years) runs the 5 km only; U16 and U18 can choose either. Each runner gets a 1:10,000 map with the control posts and a finger chip at the start, and can race alone or with a friend. A compass helps but is not required, a yellow safety vest is recommended, and the limit is two hours. No MyUTMB account is needed.
The organiser plans two afternoon orienteering workshops on Wednesdays in June 2027 for those who have never held a map, and the prize-giving is at 13:30 at the Ermitage, with a prize for the first girl and first boy in each category.
Orienteering has no single course line: every runner picks their own way between controls, so a finish estimate along a fixed route means far less here than on the trail races. What a Livebib link can do is show the position the phone reports, for a parent who is not in Verbier that morning. It opens in a browser with no account or app, and the family decides who gets it.
