Verbier Marathon
The organiser calls it the runnable version. It is a variant of the Verbier Marathon X-Treme that leaves out Mont Rogneux, and in exchange is four kilometres longer, but it keeps the Panossière area with its glacier and suspension bridge. For anyone who wants the scenery of the Grand Combin side without the technical ridge, this is the course the organiser points to.
There is no road to the start. Runners park in Le Châble and take the gondola to Bruson and Moay; the ticket is free for runners, and bibs can be collected at the Le Châble station from 05:30 on race morning, with ID and a booked slot. Waves follow the UTMB Index, and starting earlier than assigned costs a two-hour penalty. The race page lists 2 Running Stones; aid stations are on a separate page not yet published for 2027.
With six waves spread over an hour and a quarter, friends in Verbier cannot tell from the clock where a runner is. A Livebib link shared by the runner shows the position on the course line, distance covered and a finish estimate that updates during the race, in a browser with no account or app. On the far side of the mountain, where the phone may lose signal, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated. The runner decides who gets the link.
