Ten start groups and one clock

An afternoon half marathon that starts on Strömbron and finishes on Norrbro, between the Royal Palace and the Riksdag.

adidas Stockholm Halvmarathon returns on 21 August 2027 for its 26th edition, with the first start preliminarily at 15:30. The 21,098 metres run from Strömbron through Norrmalm, Vasastan, Kungsholmen, Södermalm and Gamla Stan: Regeringsgatan, Vasagatan and Barnhusbron in the first kilometres, Kungsholms strand and Hornsbergs strand, Rålambshovsparken and Norr Mälarstrand toward km 12, then Hornsgatan, Söder Mälarstrand and Hornstull, and finally Skeppsbron to the finish on Norrbro. The race is organised by Hässelby SK and Spårvägens FK.

In 2026 the field was released in ten groups, A at 15:30 and J at 16:15, five minutes apart. The organiser’s clock starts with group A, so a runner in group J subtracts 45 minutes from the official split. There are cutoffs at 11.3 km (17:45) and 17 km (18:30), and the 2026 course had seven drinks stations, from water at 3.5 km to sports drink at 19.5 km.

That is the problem for anyone waiting on Skeppsbron: two friends who start together in different groups can be three quarters of an hour apart on the clock. A runner can share a link to their own Livebib broadcast, which family open in a browser with no account and no app. They see the runner on the course line, the distance covered and a finish estimate counted from that runner’s own start, updated as the race goes and marked as an estimate. The runner decides who gets the link.
