PUMA Salzburg Marathon, live.

From the Staatsbrücke through Mozart's old town

The PUMA Salzburg Marathon, held for the 24th time on Sunday 23 May 2027, starts on the Staatsbrücke over the Salzach and runs through the old town.

The organiser bills the weekend as the running festival of the Mozart city. There are three main races: the marathon over 42.195 km, the Sparkasse half marathon over 21.1 km and the Powerade Staffelmarathon for teams of four.

The organiser says the route takes participants through the historic old town of Salzburg and past all the main sights of the Mozart city, with the finish on the Residenzplatz. The relay legs measure 15.2, 5.9, 15.2 and 5.9 km, so a team can pair two longer and two shorter stages to suit each person's form.

The organiser calls the weekend the largest active sports event in the state of Salzburg. The relay is a way for colleagues and friends who do not run long distances to share the day. The event is organised by SportImPuls.

Relay exchanges are in front of the Stiegl Brauwelt and on the Universitätsplatz, where the half marathon split is taken. Each relay team carries a baton with the timing chip built in, and it is handed in at the finish.

On Livebib you can follow a participant who chooses to share their own live position from the phone they carry. This is not the organiser's timing, and the official results come from the Salzburg Marathon.
