SaintéTic

SaintéTic is the organiser’s “happiness formula”, the distance for setting out on the adventure. It starts in Chaponost, the main race’s last aid station at km 67, and runs the final stretch into the Halle Tony Garnier — with some trail and a few difficulties in the dark, as the organiser puts it. It is the first race of the night to cross the finish line.

There are no aid stations on the course, so runners carry their own water for thirteen kilometres. Courses close at 16:00, which hardly matters here. Climbing and the GPX track are not yet published. It suits runners who have never run by headlamp and want to try it short, or who want to be finished while the main race is still in Saint-Étienne.

Short race, late night: whoever is following can be on the way to the Halle Tony Garnier while the runner is still out. With the Livebib link they see the position on the line, the distance and an estimated finish. If the signal drops, the position is carried forward along the course and marked as estimated. No app, and the runner decides who gets the link.
