Poznań Maraton im. Macieja Frankiewicza, live.

One loop, and back to the Old Market

A city marathon run as a single loop of Poznań, starting and finishing at the international fairground in the centre.

The 25th LOTTO Poznań Maraton im. Macieja Frankiewicza was run on Sunday 4 October 2026, named after a former deputy mayor of Poznań remembered for his work for the city’s sport. The start was on ul. Grunwaldzka by the MTP fairground at 09:00, five minutes after the wheelchair race, and the finish on Plac Marka inside the MTP grounds. It is one certified loop of 42.195 km, closed to traffic until 15:30, with a limit of six hours and 8,000 paid entries.

The loop takes in most of the city. It heads out along Roosevelta, Pułaskiego and Aleja Wielkopolska to turn near Park Sołacki, comes back through Garbary and Aleje Niepodległości to Plac Wolności, and in 2026 returned to Stary Rynek, the Old Market Square, for the first time in 18 years. It then goes on along Wielka and Mostowa, over the St Roch bridge and through Piotrowo to Lake Malta, swings through the Rataje estates, crosses the Warta at Starołęka and comes home through Łazarz, Górczyn and Ławica, past the Enea Stadion and down Grunwaldzka to the finish.

In 2026 Barecha Tolosa Geleto won in 2:11:35 and Betty Chepkwony in 2:29:33, and 4,487 runners finished. Timing mats every 5 km give official splits; Livebib is something else, the runner’s own broadcast. They share the link, and family open it in a browser with no app or account, to see the position on the course line and a finish estimate that updates kilometre by kilometre. On a loop this big, it tells a supporter on Stary Rynek whether there is time to get to Malta.
