Nesbyen Backyard 6 timer

Nesbyen Backyard 6 timer

The 6 hours runs on the same rules and the same loop as the 12: everyone starts together on the hour from inside the start area, the 6.7 km through Nesbyen on asphalt, gravel, trail and open ground has under 30 metres of climbing, and a loop counts only if it is finished inside the hour. There is no personal assistance during a loop and no poles. Between loops the hall has changing rooms, showers, toilets, an indoor rest room and a kiosk.

The organiser pitches it at runners new to backyard racing and anyone who wants a shorter day, and it ends in daylight, well before the 18:00 headlamp rule. The seventh loop is where it gets interesting: six-hour runners who go out again are not stopped, and completing lap seven, about 47 km, earns a prize for running an ultra distance. Everyone who finishes a single loop gets a participation prize, and there are prizes for the top three in each age class and overall.

This page covers the 2026 edition. Whether a runner goes out for a seventh loop is the question family most want answered. On Livebib the runner shares a link to their broadcast, and family open it in a browser, with no app or account, to see the position on the loop, the distance covered and an estimate of when the runner is back at the hall. If the signal drops on the trail, the position is carried forward and marked as estimated rather than freezing.
