Montane DirtyTrail Silkeborg, live.

Kødsovsen, Andedammen, Softicen and Plævret

Montane DirtyTrail is a muddy trail race in the forest at Silkeborg where the obstacles are the ground itself: water holes, steep climbs and stretches with no path at all.

The 2026 edition was on Saturday 3 October from Peterslyst Rideskole, Vesterlundvej 96A, Silkeborg, organised by Eventyrsport Events. There are three solo distances, Quick N’ Dirty 6 km, Long N’ Dirty 10 km and Extremely Dirty 15 km, and each can also be run as DirtyTeam, two to four people who start together and stay together all the way. The organiser runs the races in start waves and draws costume prizes within each wave.

The routes follow small forest paths and singletrack, through water holes, up steep climbs and down hills, past passages with names like Kødsovsen, Andedammen, Softicen and Plævret. The organiser is clear that it is not about artificial obstacles. On the 6 and 10 km it puts the mix at about 60 per cent forest path, 20 per cent mud and water and 20 per cent off-trail; on the 15 km, forest path takes the larger share. There are depots on every route, but no plastic cups, so runners bring their own; at the finish there is brunsviger.

In a forest, under trees and down in the wet bits, a phone can lose its fix. A Livebib broadcast that the runner shares does not freeze when that happens: the position is carried forward along the course line and marked as estimated instead of measured. Family open it in a browser, no account and no app, and see the distance covered and a finish estimate that updates as the race goes. The runner decides who gets the link.
